Excellent sensitivity range
The ability to measure from 1 to over 60,000 lux is impressive for such a small board. It handles both dim indoor lighting and bright sunlight without saturating immediately.

Solid build quality
We bought ten of these for our workshop. Most work perfectly out of the box. One had a slightly loose pin header, but nothing a little solder couldn't fix. Good bulk purchase.

Great value, accurate enough
For the price, you cannot beat this module. It is not laboratory grade, but for a line-following robot that avoids dark areas, it is more than sufficient. I2C wiring is simple.

Works well with ESP32
I integrated this into my ESP32 home automation system to control lights based on ambient brightness. The response time is quick and the library support is excellent.

A: The default I2C address is typically 0x23. However, some variations allow changing the address to 0x5C by modifying the ADDR pin connection.
Q: How fast can this sensor take readings?
A: The measurement time depends on the resolution mode selected. In low resolution mode, it takes approximately 16ms, while high resolution modes take between 120ms and 180ms.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof for outdoor use?
A: No, the bare PCB module is not waterproof. If you plan to use it outdoors, you must enclose it in a weatherproof case with a transparent window for the sensor.
