Best value humidity sensor
Compared to other sensors in this price range, the DHT22 offers the best balance of cost and precision. It handles high humidity environments without fogging up.

Perfect for my weather station
This DHT22 module works flawlessly with my Arduino setup. The readings are consistent and much more accurate than the cheaper DHT11 I used before. Highly recommended for serious hobbyists.

Reliable data
Using three of these in different rooms. They all report similar baseline values which gives me confidence in their calibration. One star off because the plastic casing feels a bit fragile.

Great for beginners
I was worried about wiring this up, but the module comes with clear pinouts. Plenty of tutorials online helped me get it running in minutes. Very satisfied.

Good sensor, slow sampling
The accuracy is great for monitoring my greenhouse humidity. Just remember it only updates every 2 seconds, so don't expect real-time rapid changes. Otherwise, a solid component.
Q: Why am I getting NaN values in my code?
A: NaN usually indicates a wiring issue or insufficient delay between readings. Please check your connections and ensure you wait at least 2 seconds between each sensor read request as per the datasheet.
Q: Can I use this outdoors in the rain?
A: The sensor itself is not waterproof. While it can measure outdoor air conditions, it must be housed in a breathable, weatherproof enclosure to protect it from direct rain and moisture accumulation.
Q: Is this compatible with 5V logic levels?
A: Yes, the DHT22 operates between 3.3V and 6V, so it is fully compatible with 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno without needing a level shifter.
Q: Does this come with a pull-up resistor installed?
A: Most modules include a built-in pull-up resistor on the data line. However, if your specific board does not have one visible, you may need to add a 10kΩ resistor externally between VCC and Data.
Q: What is the maximum cable length recommended for this sensor?
A: For reliable data transmission, we recommend keeping the cable length under 20 meters. If you need longer distances, consider using a shielded cable or a signal booster.
