Good accuracy, needs calibration time
The sensor works well once it warms up. I noticed it takes about 3 minutes to stabilize after power-on. Once stable, the PM2.5 data is consistent and reliable for my indoor garden monitoring.

Solid performance for the cost

Essential for air purifier upgrade
I used this to add smart features to an old air purifier. It detects smoke and dust very effectively. The PWM output makes it easy to control fan speed based on air quality levels automatically.

Robust build quality
Impressed by the build quality of the DC01. The infrared principle seems much more durable than laser-based sensors I've used previously. Documentation was clear and helped me get started quickly.
Q: Can this module detect particles smaller than 0.3 microns?
A: The DC01 is optimized for particles between 0.3 and 10 microns. While it may register some smaller particles, the accuracy is not guaranteed below the 0.3μm threshold.
Q: Does this sensor consume a lot of power for battery-operated devices?
A: The typical operating current is around 100mA during active measurement. For battery-powered applications, we suggest implementing a sleep/wake cycle to conserve energy.
Q: Does this sensor require a warm-up period before reading accurate data?
A: Yes, we recommend allowing the sensor to warm up for approximately 3 minutes after powering on to ensure stable and accurate readings.
Q: What is the maximum cable length recommended for the UART connection?
A: For reliable signal integrity, we recommend keeping the connection cables under 1 meter. If longer distances are needed, please use shielded cables or level shifters.
Q: Is the communication protocol compatible with Arduino Uno?
A: Absolutely. The module uses standard UART (TTL level) which is fully compatible with Arduino Uno, Mega, and other microcontrollers with serial capabilities.
