Perfect for prototype robotics
The flexibility of this sensor is impressive. It adhered well to our curved robotic gripper and provided consistent resistance changes under load. The included display module made debugging very easy.

Works but sensitive to temperature
The sensor works well for basic pressure detection, but we noticed some drift in readings when the ambient temperature changed significantly. Good for controlled environments.

Great value for R&D

Good sensitivity, needs calibration
Works as described for a single-point pressure application. You will need to calibrate the resistance values in your code to get accurate readings, but the hardware quality is solid.

Easy to integrate
The analog output is straightforward to read with an Arduino. The display module is a nice bonus for quick visual checks during development. Durability seems good after a week of testing.
Q: Can this sensor detect dynamic pressure changes or only static weight?
A: The D1016 is capable of detecting both static and dynamic pressure changes due to its fast response time of under 10ms, making it suitable for impact or tap detection.
Q: Can I cut the sensor sheet to a smaller size?
A: Cutting the active sensing area is not recommended as it will alter the resistance characteristics and may damage the circuit traces. Please order custom sizes if specific dimensions are required.
Q: Is the display module necessary for the sensor to function?
A: No, the display module is an optional accessory for visualization. The sensor functions independently by outputting a variable resistance signal that can be read by any standard microcontroller.
Q: Does this come with connecting cables or headers?
A: The package includes the sensor sheet and the display conversion module. Connector headers are pre-soldered on the module, but additional jumper wires for your specific setup are sold separately.
Q: What is the maximum pressure rating before the film damages?
A: While specific rupture limits vary by application, the sensor is designed for low-to-medium force applications. We recommend staying within 0-10kg of force per square centimeter for optimal longevity.
