Good accuracy, slightly bulky
Accuracy is spot on compared to my reference meter. The only downside is that it takes up a bit more space on the PCB than I anticipated, but the performance makes up for it.

Zero drift after warmup
After a brief warmup period, the zero drift is negligible. I've been running continuous tests for 48 hours and the readings remain consistent. A solid choice for precision monitoring.

Perfect for my inverter project

The casing feels robust and the terminals are solid. Setup was straightforward with the standard ±15V supply. No noise issues detected in the output signal.
Q: Is the output ratiometric?
A: No, the output is a constant current source (50mA at rated input), not ratiometric to the supply voltage. This ensures stable readings even if the supply voltage fluctuates within the specified range.
Q: Does this sensor require external calibration?
A: No, the CHB series comes factory-calibrated. However, for ultra-high precision applications, we recommend verifying the offset voltage upon initial installation.
Q: What is the exact aperture size for the primary conductor?
A: The aperture dimensions vary slightly by model. The CHB-200S fits up to 12mm, while the CHB-500S accommodates conductors up to 18mm. Please refer to the specific datasheet for your chosen model.
Q: Are these suitable for DC and AC measurements?
A: Yes, the Closed-Loop Hall Effect principle allows for accurate measurement of both AC and DC currents, as well as complex waveforms, with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits.
Q: Can I use a single 24V supply instead of dual polarity?
A: These modules are designed for bipolar supply voltages (±12V to ±15V). Using a single 24V rail without creating a virtual ground may damage the internal circuitry or result in incorrect output.
