Reliable and consistent
I've run this sensor for hours during testing phases. No overheating issues and the readings remain stable even under varying ambient light conditions thanks to the shielding.

Good value but needs careful mounting
Works great with Arduino Uno. Just ensure you mount it at the right height; if it's too high, it misses the line. The documentation could be slightly better, but plenty of tutorials exist online.

Solid performer
Does exactly what it says. The digital output makes interfacing simple. I deducted one star only because the included pins were not pre-soldered, but that's standard for modules like this.

Perfect for my line follower project
This 5-channel sensor is incredibly responsive. The adjustable potentiometer made calibration easy on my black tape track. Much better than the 3-channel versions I used previously.

Fast response time
I tested this at high speeds on a complex track with sharp turns. The sensor array picks up the line changes instantly without lag. Very impressed with the TCRT5000L performance here.

Excellent build quality
Bought this for my son's science fair robot. The soldering points are clean, and the IR emitters seem very consistent across all five channels. Highly recommended for beginners.
Q: What is the maximum current consumption for all 5 channels?
A: Typically, each channel draws about 15-20mA when the IR LED is active. For all 5 channels, expect a total draw of approximately 100mA at 5V.
Q: Can this sensor work on a white line with a black background?
A: Yes, but you will need to invert the logic in your code. By default, it is optimized for black lines on white surfaces, but the hardware detects reflectivity regardless of the pattern.
Q: Is there an analog output available or only digital?
A: This specific module provides digital TTL output only. If you require analog values for more granular position data, please look for our analog version of the TCRT5000 sensor array.
Q: Does this come with a cable or header pins?
A: The module comes with a set of male header pins in a small bag for you to solder yourself. Cables are not included but can be purchased separately in our accessories section.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the back of the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect from further away) and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Use a small screwdriver for adjustment.
