Struggles on glossy tape
The sensor works fine on matte black tape but gives false readings on shiny electrical tape. You really need to tune the sensitivity carefully.

Easy to integrate
As a beginner, I found the pinout clear and the online tutorials helpful. Took me about 20 minutes to get it running with a basic sketch.

Good value but needs calibration
Works well once you spend time calibrating the potentiometer for your specific surface lighting conditions. Great price for an 8-path module.

Compact and efficient
Love the small footprint. It fits perfectly on the front of my chassis. The 8 channels allow for smooth curve following compared to 3-channel sensors.
Q: What is the detection range or height from the ground?
A: For optimal performance, we recommend mounting the sensor between 5mm and 10mm above the line surface.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
A: This specific model provides digital output (HIGH/LOW) for each of the 8 channels based on the threshold set by the potentiometer.
Q: Can this module work directly with a 5V Arduino without a logic level converter?
A: Yes, this module operates on 3.3V to 5V DC and outputs TTL signals compatible with 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno.
Q: Can I use this outdoors in sunlight?
A: Infrared sensors can be affected by strong direct sunlight. It is best used indoors or in shaded areas for consistent reliability.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The package includes the PCB module only. Connecting wires or headers are not included but can be easily soldered or connected via a breadboard.
