Great for learning embedded systems
Bought this for a university project. The documentation online is plentiful, and it connected to the Arduino Uno without any voltage level shifting issues since it supports 5V logic. Highly recommended for beginners.

Perfect for weather station projects
This BMP280 module works flawlessly with my ESP32. The I2C address was detected immediately, and the pressure readings are very stable compared to my local weather station data. Great value for the price.

Reliable and compact
The form factor is tiny, making it easy to fit into custom enclosures. I've been running it for three weeks straight logging data, and it hasn't drifted or crashed once. The temperature sensor is also surprisingly accurate.

Best budget barometer
I tested this against a more expensive BME280, and for simple pressure and temp readings, the difference is negligible for my needs. If you don't need humidity, save your money and get this one.

Good accuracy, easy to integrate
Used this for an altitude hold feature on a small drone. It provides smooth data output. Just make sure you use a library that supports the oversampling settings to get the best resolution. Shipping was fast.

Solid performance
Works as advertised. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the soldering pads are a bit small for hand-soldering wires if you aren't experienced. Otherwise, the sensor performance is excellent.
Q: How do I improve the reading stability?
A: You can improve stability by increasing the oversampling settings in your code. Setting the sensor to take multiple internal samples and averaging them will reduce noise, though it will slightly increase power consumption and response time.
Q: Can this sensor measure altitude accurately?
A: Yes, it can estimate altitude based on atmospheric pressure changes. While it is quite precise for relative altitude changes (like in a drone), absolute altitude requires calibration with a known sea-level pressure value.
Q: Is there a library available for Python on Raspberry Pi?
A: Absolutely. There are several well-maintained libraries available, such as 'adafruit-circuitpython-bmp280' or 'smbus2' based scripts, which make reading data on Raspberry Pi very straightforward.
Q: What is the default I2C address for this sensor?
A: The default I2C address is typically 0x76. However, some batches may come set to 0x77. You can verify this using an I2C scanner sketch before writing your main code.
