Compact and reliable
Fits perfectly into my robot chassis. The isolation provided by the Hall effect is a huge plus for safety. Only wish the screw terminals were slightly larger for thicker wires.

Good value but needs filtering
The sensor is accurate enough for general purposes. I noticed some noise in the output, so I added a simple capacitor filter which solved the issue. For the price, it's a solid choice.
Q: Can this module measure AC current as well as DC?
A: Yes, the ACS712 and ACS724 sensors can measure both AC and DC current. The output voltage will center around VCC/2 for zero current and vary proportionally for both directions.
Q: Do I need an external library to use this with Arduino?
A: No external library is strictly required. You can read the analog pin directly and apply the sensitivity formula in your code. However, many community-made libraries exist to simplify averaging and calibration.
