Great value, minor heat issue
Works exactly as described for my robotic arm project. It does get slightly warm when driving multiple high-torque servos simultaneously, but a small fan solved that. Highly recommend for the price.

Solid performance
Using this for a camera gimbal stabilizer. The jitter is minimal, and the refresh rate is sufficient for smooth video. Would buy again.

Reliable and compact

Perfect for my hexapod robot
This board made controlling 12 servos incredibly easy. The I2C connection saves so many GPIO pins on my Raspberry Pi. Setup was straightforward with the existing libraries.

Smooth motion control
The 12-bit resolution provides very smooth movement compared to standard microcontroller PWM. Essential for any serious robotics hobbyist.
Q: Does this work with standard SG90 micro servos?
A: Yes, it is fully compatible with SG90, MG996, and almost any standard 3-wire PWM servo motor available on the market.
Q: Is there a library available for Python?
A: Yes, the Adafruit CircuitPython library and various GitHub repositories provide full support for Python on Raspberry Pi and other SBCs.
Q: Can I stack two of these boards together?
A: Absolutely. You can stack up to 62 boards by changing the I2C address jumpers, allowing you to control nearly 1000 servos on a single bus.
Q: Can this board be powered directly by the Raspberry Pi 5V pin?
A: While the logic power can come from the Pi, we strongly recommend using an external 5V-12V power source for the servo voltage rail to prevent brownouts when multiple servos move at once.
Q: What is the maximum current this board can handle?
A: The board itself does not limit current; it depends on your external power supply and the servo specifications. The traces are rated for moderate loads, but high-current applications should use robust wiring.
