Works well after calibration
Had to recalibrate my E-steps after installation, but the print results are much smoother now. Good product.
Q: What is the maximum temperature this can withstand continuously?
A: The stainless steel construction can safely handle continuous operation up to 300°C, which covers most standard printing materials including ABS and Nylon.
Q: Is this compatible with E3D V6 hotends?
A: This specific tube is designed for Makerbot MK8 hotends. While dimensions may seem similar, we recommend checking your specific thread pitch and seating depth before attempting installation on E3D systems.
Q: Do I need PTFE tape for installation?
A: Generally, no. The M6 threads are designed to seal metal-to-metal. However, if you notice minor leaks, a small amount of high-temperature thread sealant can be used, but avoid getting any inside the bore.
Q: Which length should I choose for printing TPU?
A: For flexible filaments like TPU, the 50mm option is often preferred as it provides a longer thermal break, reducing the chance of the filament softening too early in the path.
Q: Does this come with a heat sink or just the tube?
A: This listing is for the long throat tube only. The heat sink and heater block are not included.
