Good chemistry, smell is strong
The development quality is top-notch, yielding sharp negatives ready for scanning. Just be sure to work in a well-ventilated area as the chemical smell during mixing is quite potent. Otherwise, a solid product.

Perfect starter kit for home developing

Great value, minor tank quirk
The chemicals work fantastic and produce professional-looking results on my 120 film. The only reason for 4 stars is that the tank lid feels a bit tight initially, but it loosened up after a few uses. Highly recommend for the price point.

Excellent for medium format
Developing 120 film can be tricky, but the spiral reels included in this G71S kit handled my rolls perfectly. No kinks or scratches. The bleach-fix step was quick and effective.
Q: Is the tank light-tight enough to use outdoors during the day?
A: The tank is designed to be light-tight when assembled correctly. You can load the film in a changing bag and then process it anywhere, provided the tank remains closed until the fixer step is complete.
Q: How do I dispose of the used chemicals safely?
A: Please check your local municipal regulations for hazardous waste disposal. Generally, small quantities of exhausted C-41 chemicals can be neutralized before pouring down the drain, but large quantities should be taken to a recycling center.
Q: What temperature should the water be for mixing the solutions?
A: For optimal C-41 processing, the solutions should be maintained at approximately 38°C (100°F) during the development stage. Please refer to the included manual for precise temperature curves.
Q: Can this kit handle expired color negative film?
A: Yes, you can use this kit for expired film. However, you may need to adjust the development time slightly depending on how long past the expiration date the film is.
