Reliable call logging

Excellent secondary development capabilities

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The device itself is solid and recognizes numbers instantly. The pop-up feature works well on Windows 11. However, the English translation in the manual was a bit sparse, so we had to contact support for some API clarifications.

Works well but driver installation was tricky
Once installed, the device performs as advertised. However, getting the drivers to recognize the device on a fresh Windows install required some troubleshooting. Support was helpful eventually, but it took a few emails.
Q: Is the SDK compatible with Python for custom scripting?
A: Absolutely. We provide DLL files that can be easily called from Python using ctypes or similar libraries. Sample code is included in the developer package.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP systems like Asterisk?
A: Yes, the Dianpei box can connect to the analog output ports of VoIP gateways or adapters. It captures the signal just like a standard landline.
Q: What is the maximum length for a single recording file?
A: The software can handle continuous recording for extended periods. By default, it may split files every hour for easier management, but this setting is configurable in the manager software.
Q: Does the pop-up window work when the computer is locked?
A: For security reasons, the visual pop-up will not display on the lock screen. However, the device continues to record and log data in the background regardless of the user session status.
Q: Can multiple boxes be connected to one computer simultaneously?
A: Yes, you can connect multiple units to a single PC, provided you have enough available USB ports and system resources to handle the concurrent data streams.
