Excellent for lettering
I've tried many brush pens and Zebra remains my favorite. The transition from thin upstrokes to thick downstrokes is seamless. A must-have for any stationery lover.

Good value set
Bought a multi-color pack for my bullet journal. The colors are lovely and blend nicely. They dry relatively quickly which prevents smudging on lefties like me if I'm careful.

Great ink flow
The ink flows very smoothly and the colors are vibrant. I use them for journaling headers. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the cap can be a bit tight sometimes, but overall a great pen.

Authentic Japanese quality
You can really tell the difference in quality compared to generic brands. The tip holds its shape well even after extensive use. Great for adult practice sessions.

Love the soft tip
These pens feel just like a real brush but with much more control. Perfect for making handmade greeting cards. The Small Kai size is ideal for detailed work.

Perfect for beginners!
I bought these to practice English cursive and they are fantastic. The sponge tip is forgiving and allows for beautiful line variation without needing much pressure. Highly recommend for anyone starting their calligraphy journey.
Q: Can I use these on watercolor paper?
A: Yes, they work wonderfully on watercolor paper. However, since the ink is water-based, avoid over-saturating the area to prevent bleeding.
Q: What is the difference between Small Kai and Medium Kai?
A: The Small Kai has an extra-fine tip suitable for detailed lettering and small text, while the Medium Kai offers a broader stroke ideal for headlines and larger calligraphy.
Q: Is the ink waterproof once dry?
A: The ink is pigment-based and offers good water resistance once fully dried, but it is not completely waterproof against heavy soaking.
Q: Are these pens refillable?
A: No, the ZEBRA Small Kai and Medium Kai pens are designed as disposable units and cannot be refilled.
Q: Do these pens have a strong odor?
A: No, these pens use a mild, low-odor formula making them safe and pleasant for indoor use and extended practice sessions.
