Easy to print
As a beginner, I was worried about using silk filament, but this was surprisingly easy to handle. The settings recommended by SUNLU worked right out of the box. Very happy with the results.

Good value for money
For the price, you get a large spool of high-quality silk filament. The gold color is true to the photos. Only giving 4 stars because the spool itself was slightly loose, but the filament inside was fine.

Consistent diameter
No jams or flow issues throughout the entire spool. The consistency in diameter seems very accurate, which is crucial for high-speed printing on the P2S. Will definitely buy again.

Perfect for decorative items

Stunning Gold Finish
The silk gold finish on this filament is absolutely gorgeous. It prints smoothly on my Bambu Lab P2S without any clogging. The layers blend together perfectly to give a metallic look that doesn't require post-processing.

Great quality, slightly brittle
Print quality is excellent and the color is rich. However, I found the filament to be a bit more brittle than standard PLA when loading it into the extruder. Once printing, though, it works flawlessly.
Q: Can I paint over the silk finish if needed?
A: While the silk finish is designed to look great as-is, you can paint it. We recommend lightly sanding the surface with fine-grit sandpaper and applying a primer before painting for best adhesion.
Q: Does this come with a vacuum-sealed bag?
A: Yes, every spool arrives vacuum-sealed with a desiccant pack to ensure the filament remains dry and free from moisture damage during shipping and storage.
Q: Is this filament compatible with the Bambu Lab P1P as well?
A: Yes, SUNLU PLA+ Silk Filament is fully compatible with all Bambu Lab printers, including the P1P, X1C, and P2S models.
Q: What is the shelf life of this filament if kept sealed?
A: If stored in its original vacuum-sealed packaging in a cool, dry place, the filament has a shelf life of approximately 2 to 3 years without degradation in print quality.
Q: What is the recommended retraction setting for this material?
A: For direct drive extruders, we recommend a retraction distance of 0.5mm to 1.0mm. For Bowden setups, try 4mm to 6mm. You may need to tune this slightly based on your specific printer.
