If you own an X1C or P1P and plan to print anything other than basic PLA, this is a must-have. The upgraded heater block reaches target temps faster and maintains them with less fluctuation.

Great upgrade but takes time to install

The performance is excellent, especially with high-temperature materials like ABS. However, the installation took me about 45 minutes as I had to be very careful with the wiring. Make sure you have good lighting.

Perfect for abrasive filaments

I switched to this hardened steel hotend specifically to print carbon fiber nylon, and it has been flawless. No wear on the nozzle after 2kg of prints. The temperature stability is noticeably better than the stock brass version.

Solid build quality

The machining on the hardened steel is precise. It fits perfectly into the Bambu Lab carriage. My only minor complaint is that the included thermal paste tube was almost empty, so I had to use my own.

A: Yes, it is highly recommended to run the full calibration suite in the printer settings after installing any new hotend component. This ensures the pressure advance and flow rate are optimized for the new hardware.

Q: Can I still print PLA with this hardened steel nozzle?

A: Yes, absolutely. While it is optimized for abrasive and high-temperature filaments, it works perfectly fine with PLA, PETG, and other standard materials. You may need to adjust temperature profiles slightly for optimal results.

Q: Does this come with a new silicone sock?

A: The package includes the hotend assembly with the heater and thermistor pre-installed. It does not include a new silicone sock; we recommend reusing your existing one if it is in good condition or purchasing a replacement separately.

Q: What is the expected lifespan compared to the brass nozzle?

A: The hardened steel nozzle is significantly more durable, especially when printing abrasive materials like carbon fiber or glass fiber. While a brass nozzle might wear out after a few hundred grams of abrasive filament, the hardened steel can last for kilograms.
