Excellent for prototypes

Used this for an architectural model. The matte finish gives it a very professional, organic look. Only downside is the spool is a bit heavy for some third-party holders.

Great look, slightly brittle

The matte finish is beautiful and hides layer lines well. Just be careful when removing supports as the wood fibers make it a bit more brittle than standard PLA.

A: Yes, prints made with PLA Wood can be sanded lightly to smooth edges and can accept wood stains or varnishes similarly to real wood, enhancing the natural grain appearance.

Q: What is the shelf life of this filament?

A: If stored in a cool, dry place with the desiccant packet and sealed in its bag, the filament has a shelf life of approximately 2-3 years without significant degradation.

Q: Is this material food safe?

A: No, this filament is not certified food safe. Additionally, the porous nature of wood-filled prints can harbor bacteria, making them unsuitable for food contact regardless of the base material.

Q: Does this filament require a hardened steel nozzle?

A: While not strictly mandatory for short runs, we recommend using a hardened steel nozzle for extended printing with wood-filled filaments to prevent excessive wear on brass nozzles.
