Stunning finish and easy to print

Beautiful results with minor tuning

Needed to lower the retraction slightly to get perfect surfaces, but once dialed in, the results are magical. The gloss level is impressive.

Q: Do I need to dry this filament before printing?

A: The filament comes sealed with desiccant. If the package has been opened for a long time or you notice bubbling, we recommend drying at 45°C for 4-6 hours for optimal results.

Q: Can I paint over the silk finish?

A: Yes, you can paint it, but the glossy surface may require light sanding and a primer coat to ensure proper paint adhesion without losing the smooth texture entirely.

Q: Is this material food safe?

A: While PLA is generally derived from cornstarch, 3D printed parts are not recommended for food contact due to potential bacteria growth in layer lines and additives used for color and texture.

Q: What is the difference between PLA Silk and PLA Silk+?

A: PLA Silk+ features upgraded mechanical strength and improved layer adhesion compared to standard silk filaments, making prints less brittle while maintaining the aesthetic glossy finish.

Q: Does this filament work with non-Bambu Lab printers?

A: Yes, it works with any 1.75mm FDM printer. However, the RFID auto-parameter feature only functions with compatible Bambu Lab printers. Manual settings will be required for other brands.
