Perfect for functional prototypes
I use this for printing drone frames and tool handles. The carbon fiber reinforcement adds just enough rigidity without making the material too brittle. Layer adhesion is excellent.

Strong but requires specific settings
My first time using CF filament. It printed well on the P1S, but I had to slow down the outer wall speed to get the best surface finish. Very strong final product though.

RFID integration is a game changer
Love how the printer automatically adjusts all settings when I load the spool. No more guessing temperatures or speeds. The dimensional accuracy is spot on for assembly parts.

Great material, watch your nozzle
Prints look amazing with a matte black finish. Just remember this will destroy a brass nozzle in a single spool. Switched to hardened steel and had zero issues since.

Consistent quality across multiple spools
We have gone through six spools in our makerspace. Every single one has printed flawlessly with minimal warping. The carbon fibers are well-distributed, preventing clogs.

Incredible strength and ease of use
The RFID feature made setup instant on my X1 Carbon. The prints come out incredibly stiff and the surface finish is beautiful. Definitely need a hardened nozzle, but the results are worth it.
Q: How should I store this filament to maintain quality?
A: Like all technical filaments, PLA-CF is hygroscopic. Store it in an airtight container with desiccant packs when not in use. If the filament has absorbed moisture, drying it at 45°C for 4-6 hours before printing is recommended.
Q: Will the RFID tag work if I put the spool on a non-Bambu Lab printer?
A: The RFID tag contains profile data specifically for Bambu Lab printers. While the filament itself will work on any 1.75mm FDM printer, the automatic parameter recognition will only function with compatible Bambu Lab machines.
Q: Do I absolutely need a hardened steel nozzle for this filament?
A: Yes, carbon fiber filaments are abrasive and will quickly wear down standard brass nozzles. We strongly recommend using a hardened steel nozzle (0.4mm or 0.6mm) for optimal longevity and print quality.
Q: What bed surface works best for PLA-CF to prevent warping?
A: PLA-CF generally adheres well to textured PEI sheets, which are standard on most Bambu Lab printers. Ensure the bed is clean and heated to around 50°C for the best first-layer adhesion.
Q: Is this filament suitable for outdoor applications?
A: While the carbon fiber reinforcement adds strength and heat resistance, PLA base materials can degrade under prolonged UV exposure and high temperatures. For permanent outdoor use, we recommend ASA or PETG-CF filaments instead.
