Good, but pricey
It sounds great, no doubt, but I am not sure the price premium over the standard V16 series is justified for an amateur player like me.

Great tone, steep learning curve
Beautiful sound once you adjust your embouchure. The AP3 facing is quite open, so it took me a week to get used to the air support required.

Stunning craftsmanship
Not only does it play beautifully, but the brushed titanium finish is gorgeous. It feels like a piece of art in your hand.

Incredible resonance and durability
The titanium construction makes a noticeable difference in the harmonic content. It feels lighter than metal but projects better than my old hard rubber mouthpiece.

My new daily driver
Switched from a crystal mouthpiece to this AP2 model. The response is faster, and the high register sings effortlessly.

Worth the investment for pros
As a session musician, I need consistency. These titanium profiles are incredibly stable regardless of humidity or temperature changes.
Q: Is this mouthpiece suitable for a beginner student?
A: While anyone can use it, the AP2 and AP3 facings are generally designed for intermediate to advanced players due to the air support required.
Q: Can I use a standard ligature with this mouthpiece?
A: Yes, the external dimensions follow standard Vandoren profiling, so most standard saxophone and clarinet ligatures will fit perfectly.
Q: Does the titanium affect the reed life?
A: Titanium is very smooth and non-porous, which can actually extend reed life slightly compared to some rougher materials, provided the reed is seated correctly.
Q: What is the difference between AP2 and AP3?
A: The AP2 features a medium tip opening suitable for classical and light jazz, while the AP3 has a larger opening designed for heavy jazz and rock projection.
Q: How do I clean the titanium surface?
A: Simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth after playing. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes, as they may scratch the brushed finish.
