Installed these on my custom build. The high-end sparkle is present but not harsh, and the mid-range punch cuts through the mix effortlessly during band practice.

Classic Rock Perfection
If you are looking for that specific late-50s crunch without the mud, this is the set. The balance between the neck and bridge is perfectly matched out of the box.

Worth every penny
I was hesitant about the price, but the dynamic range is incredible. They clean up beautifully when rolling back the volume knob, just like the originals from the late 50s.

Solid upgrade for R9 style guitars
Very responsive to picking dynamics. I deducted one star only because the nickel covers tarnished slightly faster than expected, but the tone remains fantastic.

Great sound, tricky install
The tone is exactly what I wanted for my metal rig—thick and punchy. Installation required some careful soldering due to the long leads, but the result was worth the effort.

Authentic Vintage Tone
These pickups transformed my R9 clone into a professional instrument. The clarity in the neck position is unmatched, and the bridge sings with sustain perfect for rock solos.
Q: Is there a significant noise floor when using high gain distortion?
A: As true humbuckers, they excel at canceling 60-cycle hum. While no passive pickup is completely silent under extreme gain, these are very quiet compared to single coils.
Q: Will these fit a standard import Les Paul without modifying the cavity?
A: They should fit most standard cavities, but some import guitars have slightly smaller routing. You may need to do minor woodworking or shim the pickup rings.
Q: What is the string spacing on these pickups?
A: These feature standard Gibson spacing, which is approximately 1.90 inches (48mm) center-to-center on the pole pieces.
Q: Are these pickups wax-potted to prevent feedback at high volumes?
A: Yes, these Gibson 1959 reissue humbuckers are lightly wax-potted to control microphonic feedback while maintaining acoustic resonance.
Q: Do these come with mounting hardware included?
A: The set includes the pickups with attached mounting rings and springs, but you will need to use your existing screws or purchase standard Gibson-sized mounting screws separately.
