Great value, slightly tricky to handle

The quality of the copper is excellent for the price. It can be a bit delicate to work with if you pull it too fast, but once applied, it creates a solid shield. My bass guitar is much quieter now.

Good length for multiple guitars

Perfect for shielding my Strat

Q: Is the adhesive side conductive or just the copper side?

A: This is single-conductive tape, meaning only the copper surface is conductive. The adhesive is acrylic and helps bond the tape, but for electrical continuity, you must ensure the copper surfaces overlap or use a separate ground wire.

Q: How long does the adhesive last before drying out?

A: When stored in a cool, dry place with the roll wrapped tightly, the adhesive remains effective for several years. Once applied inside a guitar body, it typically lasts the lifetime of the instrument.

Q: Do I need to solder the tape to the pot casing?

A: While the conductive adhesive helps, for the best grounding results, we recommend soldering a small ground wire from your potentiometer casing to the copper foil to ensure a reliable earth connection.

Q: Can this be used on acoustic-electric guitars?

A: Absolutely. If your acoustic-electric has a preamp system installed in a routed cavity, this tape works great for shielding those electronics from external interference.

Q: Will this fit in a standard Les Paul control cavity?

A: Yes, the 2-inch width is ideal for most standard guitar cavities including Les Pauls, Strats, and Teles. You can easily cut it to size with scissors or a hobby knife.
