Significant improvement in tone clarity
I switched from a fabric ligature to this metal one and immediately noticed a brighter, more focused sound. The dual screws allow for perfect pressure distribution on the reed.

Best upgrade for the price
For the cost, you cannot beat this ligature. It holds the reed securely without crushing it, and the metal cap protects the tip perfectly when not playing.

My student loves it

Good but scratches easily
The sound is great, but the gold plating started showing minor wear marks after just two weeks of daily use. Functionally it is still perfect, just aesthetically imperfect now.

Great quality, slightly tight fit
The craftsmanship is excellent and it looks beautiful on my horn. It was a bit difficult to get the cap on at first, but after a few uses, it loosened up just enough.
Q: Will this fit a Yamaha YAS-280 mouthpiece?
A: Yes, this ligature is designed to fit standard Eb alto saxophone mouthpieces, including the stock mouthpiece that comes with the Yamaha YAS-280.
Q: Is the pouch included water-resistant?
A: The included protective pouch is made of soft microfiber to prevent scratching. While it offers some protection against moisture, it is not fully waterproof.
Q: Can I use synthetic reeds with this ligature?
A: Absolutely. The dual-screw system provides adjustable tension that works well with both traditional cane reeds and synthetic reeds of various thicknesses.
Q: Does the cap screw on or just push on?
A: The metal mouthpiece cap pushes on securely via friction fit; it does not have a screw mechanism, which allows for quick removal and installation.
Q: How do I clean the gold plating?
A: We recommend wiping the ligature with a dry, lint-free cloth after each use. Avoid using chemical polishes or water, as these can degrade the plating over time.
