Great value for money
My student needed a replacement after dropping his old one. The AS-4C responded immediately with a warm sound. The included ligature is basic but functional.

Smooth response

Solid choice
Good build quality as expected from Yamaha. The tip opening is comfortable for developing embouchure strength. I wish the cap felt a bit more durable, but the mouthpiece itself is excellent.

Perfect starter mouthpiece
This is the standard mouthpiece that comes with many Yamaha saxophones for a reason. It offers a balanced tone that is neither too bright nor too dark. Very easy to play for beginners.

Reliable and consistent
I bought this as a backup for my main setup. The intonation is spot on across all registers. It lacks some of the projection of higher-end models, but for the price, it is unbeatable.
