Decent but not silent
They do mute the sound significantly, but don't expect total silence. Still audible through thin walls, but much better than bare metal.

Perfect for apartment living
These pads are a lifesaver. I can practice late at night without waking up my neighbors. The feel is surprisingly close to real cymbals.
