Lovely gift idea

Solid construction
The wood quality is better than I expected. It has a nice weight to it and doesn't feel cheap. The tuning held up well after a week of casual playing. A great introduction to the Yueqin.

Great starter instrument
As a complete beginner to Chinese instruments, this was perfect. It came mostly tuned and the strings are easy on the fingers. The sound is bright and pleasant, though not as deep as professional models.
