Best pen for watercolor details

Versatile tool for mixed media

Great quality, dries fast
The ink flow is consistent and it dries almost instantly. I use it for outlining my oil paintings. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the cap can be a bit tight to remove sometimes, but that ensures it doesn't dry out.

Good value for professionals
Solid performance for the price. The brush tip is durable and hasn't frayed yet after a month of daily use. It handles well on smooth bristol board. Would purchase again.
Q: Is this pen safe to use directly on fingernails?
A: Yes, this pen is widely used by nail artists for detailing. However, we recommend applying a base coat before drawing and a top coat afterward to seal the design and ensure longevity.
Q: Is this pen suitable for writing on glass or ceramic?
A: Yes, the archival ink adheres well to non-porous surfaces like glass and ceramic. For permanent results on these surfaces, baking the item according to safety guidelines or applying a clear sealant is recommended.
Q: How do I clean the nylon tip if it gets clogged?
A: If you notice ink buildup, gently wipe the tip with a soft, damp cloth or rinse briefly under lukewarm water. Pat it dry with a tissue and recap immediately. Avoid using harsh solvents which could damage the nylon fibers.
Q: Does the ink smear if I highlight over it with a marker?
A: Once the pigment ink is fully dry (usually within seconds), it is generally smudge-proof and water-resistant. However, we suggest testing on a scrap piece of your specific paper first, as some alcohol-based markers might react differently.
Q: Can I use this pen over wet watercolor?
A: For best results, please allow your watercolor layer to dry completely before using the liner pen. While the ink is waterproof once dry, drawing on wet paper may cause the nib to absorb too much water and affect ink flow.
