Good quality, fast shipping

The stainless steel feels durable. It took a little effort to thread in initially, but once seated, it works great. Temperature stability seems improved compared to my old brass one.

Decent but requires careful installation

The part itself is fine, but you need to be very careful not to overtighten it as the M6 threads can strip if you are not gentle. Works well once installed correctly.

Perfect fit for my MK8 setup

Great value for money

For the price, you cannot beat this. It includes the PTFE tube which saved me a separate purchase. Printing PLA and PETG has been flawless since installation.

Q: How long is the PTFE tube included in the box?

A: The included PTFE tube is approximately 50mm in length, which is sufficient to feed directly into the heat break for standard MK8 configurations.

Q: Can I use this for printing nylon filament?

A: While the heat break can handle the temperature, we recommend an all-metal heat break without PTFE for high-temperature filaments like Nylon or Polycarbonate to prevent degradation of the tube.

Q: Does the package include the silicone sock?

A: No, this package contains only the heat break assembly and the PTFE feeding tube. Silicone socks are sold separately.

Q: Is this compatible with E3D V6 hotends?

A: No, this heat break is specifically designed for Makerbot MK8 extruders with M6 threading. E3D V6 uses different dimensions and threading.

Q: What is the maximum temperature this can withstand?

A: The stainless steel and PTFE combination is rated for continuous use up to 250°C, making it suitable for PLA, PETG, and ABS printing.
