Authentic and well-matched pair
It is hard to find a pair this well-matched in such a rare variety. The sound they make when rotated is satisfyingly muted, fitting the 'mute' name perfectly.

Perfect symmetry and unique shape
I have collected wenwan walnuts for years, and this triangular variety is exceptional. The three ridges are perfectly aligned, and the 'mute white' color is very distinct. Great weight in the hand.

Excellent stress reliever
Bought these for hand exercise while working at my desk. The triangular shape provides a unique tactile sensation that keeps my hands active without being noisy.

Great gift for collectors
Purchased as a gift for my father who loves traditional collectibles. He was thrilled with the rarity of the three-ridge formation. Packaging was secure and elegant.

Good quality but smaller than expected
The quality is undeniable, and the white lion head features are clear. However, they feel slightly smaller than the dimensions I anticipated from the photos.

Beautiful but requires patience
The craftsmanship of nature here is amazing. The grooves are deep, so it takes a bit longer to polish them compared to smoother varieties, but the end result looks stunning.
Q: Is the triangular shape natural or carved?
A: The shape is entirely natural. This specific 'Three Ridge' mutation occurs rarely in the Mute White Lion Head species, which is what makes them highly valued by collectors.
Q: How do I clean the deep grooves on this variety?
A: We recommend using a soft-bristled brush (like a toothbrush) to gently remove dust from the ridges. Avoid using water or chemicals; simply brush dry and then handle with clean hands to develop a natural patina.
Q: What does 'Mute' mean in the variety name?
A: 'Mute' refers to the acoustic property of this specific walnut variety. When rotated in the hand, they produce a softer, quieter sound compared to other types that might click loudly against each other.
Q: Will the color change over time?
A: Yes, like all natural wenwan walnuts, the creamy white color will gradually deepen to a warm amber or reddish-brown hue as you handle them and they oxidize, developing a beautiful glossy patina.
Q: Are these walnuts edible?
A: No, these are Wenwan (play) walnuts intended for hand exercise and collection. They have very thick shells and minimal kernel content, making them unsuitable for consumption.
