Nostalgic purchase

I used these notes when I traveled to China in the late 90s. Buying this brought back great memories. The seller packaged it very carefully.

Good condition for the price

I was pleased with the quality. There are some fold lines as expected for a circulated note, but no tears or major stains. Shipping was fast and secure.

Great addition to my collection

The banknote arrived exactly as described. It shows signs of circulation which adds to its character, and the protective sleeve keeps it safe. A nice piece of Chinese monetary history.

Perfect for beginners

As someone just starting to collect Asian currency, this was an affordable and authentic entry point. The details on the portrait are still very clear.

Solid item

The note is genuine and matches the photos. I deducted one star only because the corners were slightly softer than I hoped, but overall a good buy.

5 FAQ

Q: How is the note shipped to prevent damage?

A: Each note is placed in a rigid protective holder and then shipped inside a padded envelope with a 'Do Not Bend' label to ensure it arrives in the stated condition.

Q: Is this banknote still legal tender in China?

A: While the Fourth Series RMB has been largely withdrawn from active circulation, it can still be exchanged at banks in China according to central bank regulations. However, it is primarily sold here as a collectible item.

Q: Are there any tears or tape on this circulated note?

A: Our grading standard for 'Circulated' ensures there are no tears, holes, or adhesive tape repairs. You may expect normal fold lines and minor edge wear consistent with previous handling.

Q: Does the protective sleeve affect the visibility of the watermark?

A: No, the provided currency sleeve is made of high-transparency archival material that does not obscure the watermark or any security features of the banknote.

Q: Can I choose a specific serial number?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot select specific serial numbers for individual orders. You will receive a genuine 1996 1 Yuan note similar to the one pictured, but the serial number will vary.
