Low maintenance as advertised
I don't have a green thumb, but these seedlings are very forgiving. I just water them when the soil feels dry and keep them in the sun. No pests so far thanks to the grafting.

First year harvest was amazing
As promised, these fruited heavily in the first year. The melons are sweet, crisp, and truly seedless. My kids love harvesting them right off the vine on our patio.

Perfect for my balcony garden!
I was skeptical about growing watermelons in pots, but these grafted seedlings are incredible. They established quickly and are already showing multiple fruits. The black skin variety looks stunning too.

Best gardening purchase this season
These grafted seedlings are worth every penny. Much stronger than seeds I've tried before. The 8424 variety produces beautiful, dark-skinned melons that taste like summer.

Healthy plants, fast shipping
Arrived well-packaged with moist roots. One leaf was slightly bruised during transit but the plant recovered within two days. Great quality for the price.

Great variety, needs support
The plants are vigorous and healthy. Just remember to provide a trellis or support system even for pot growing, as the vines get long. The fruit quality is excellent.
Q: How often should I water these in hot weather?
A: In hot weather, check the soil daily. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry. Container plants may need watering once or twice a day during heatwaves.
Q: Can these really grow in a standard balcony pot?
A: Yes, this variety is specifically bred for compact growth. We recommend a minimum 5-gallon pot with good drainage for optimal results.
Q: What does 'grafted' mean for these seedlings?
A: Grafting involves joining the Kirin 8424 variety onto a hardy rootstock. This makes the plant more resistant to soil-borne diseases and improves overall vigor and yield.
Q: Do I need to pollinate them by hand?
A: If grown on an open balcony with bees, natural pollination usually occurs. If indoors or lacking pollinators, you can gently transfer pollen from male to female flowers using a small brush.
Q: Are the melons completely seedless?
A: They are classified as seedless, meaning they contain only small, soft, edible white pips rather than large hard black seeds. They are very easy to eat.
