Great for heavy wooden doors
I was worried this wouldn't handle my solid oak door, but it works flawlessly. The offset hinge design makes alignment much easier than traditional springs.

Excellent value
Much cheaper than hiring a contractor to install a recessed spring. This surface-mount option is robust and looks professional once installed.

Works well but finish scratches easily
Functionally, the spring is great. However, during installation, I noticed the finish scratched somewhat easily when handling with tools. Be careful during setup.

Smooth operation
Very smooth closing action. I adjusted the speed screw easily to get the perfect close rate. It holds the door open exactly at 90 degrees as advertised.

Good quality, clear instructions
Solid build quality. The brushed nickel finish matches my other hardware well. Installation took about 30 minutes. Only giving 4 stars because the screws provided were slightly short for thicker doors.

Perfect solution for my office door
The no-dig installation was a lifesaver. I didn't want to cut into my hardwood floor, and this floor spring worked perfectly. The 90-degree hold is very stable.
Q: What is the maximum door thickness this can accommodate?
A: This floor spring is suitable for framed doors with a thickness ranging from 1.37 inches to 1.75 inches (35mm to 45mm).
Q: Do I need any special tools for the no-dig installation?
A: No special tools are required. A standard screwdriver and a drill for pilot holes are sufficient for installation.
Q: Is this suitable for exterior doors exposed to rain?
A: While the material is durable, this product is primarily recommended for interior use. For exterior doors, additional weatherproofing measures would be necessary.
Q: Can the closing speed be adjusted after installation?
A: Yes, there is an adjustment valve on the unit that allows you to regulate the closing speed to suit your specific needs.
Q: Does this work on doors that swing both ways?
A: No, this model is designed specifically for single-action doors that swing in one direction only.
