Works as expected. The range covers all our needs for plastic film testing. The only reason for 4 stars is that the tip wears out slightly faster than expected with heavy use.

A: Each batch is tested for accuracy against standard solutions, but individual calibration certificates are not included with single pen purchases. Bulk orders may request documentation.
Q: Are these pens safe to use on food packaging materials?
A: Yes, the test fluid evaporates quickly and leaves no harmful residue, making it safe for testing materials intended for food contact, provided standard safety guidelines are followed.
Q: Can this pen be used on curved surfaces?
A: Yes, the felt tip is flexible enough to apply the test fluid on slightly curved surfaces, though flat surfaces provide the most consistent and easy-to-read results.
Q: How do I interpret the results if the liquid beads up?
A: If the liquid beads up within 2 seconds, the surface energy is lower than the dyne level of the pen. If it spreads evenly, the surface energy is equal to or higher than the pen's rating.
Q: What is the shelf life of these test pens once opened?
A: Once opened, the pens should be used within 3 to 6 months for optimal accuracy, provided the cap is sealed tightly after each use. Unopened, they last up to 12 months.
