Good product, strict storage needed
The pen works great when fresh, but the liquid evaporates faster than expected if not capped immediately after each use. Make sure to store it horizontally as instructed.

A: These pens are specifically designed for non-porous plastics, films, and foils to measure corona treatment. While they can technically mark metal, they are not calibrated or intended for measuring surface energy on metallic substrates.

Q: How do I interpret the results when using the dyne pen?
A: Draw a line with the pen on the surface. If the liquid beads up within 2 seconds, the surface tension is lower than the pen's value. If it remains as a continuous film for at least 2 seconds, the surface tension is equal to or higher than the pen's value.
Q: What is the shelf life of the liquid once the pen is opened?
A: While unopened pens have a shelf life of about 12 months, once opened, the liquid should be used within 6 months provided the cap is sealed tightly immediately after every use to prevent evaporation.
