Essential for our QC lab
We use these pens daily to test the treat level of our polyethylene films before printing. The German arcotest pens are incredibly consistent and reliable compared to other brands we have tried. Highly recommended for quality control.

Good product, fast shipping
The pen works exactly as described. I bought the 38 and 42 dyne models for our packaging line. The only reason for 4 stars is that the ink seems to evaporate quickly if the cap is left off even for a minute, but that is standard for this type of tool.

Q: Can these pens be used on curved surfaces?
A: Yes, arcotest pens can be used on curved surfaces such as bottles or tubes. However, ensure you apply enough pressure to get a continuous line without scratching the substrate. For very small radii, exercise caution to avoid breaking the felt tip.
Q: How do I know which dyne level pen to purchase for my specific plastic film?
A: You should select a pen with a dyne level slightly higher than your target specification. If the liquid remains wet for 2 seconds, the surface tension is equal to or greater than the pen's value. If it beads up immediately, the surface tension is lower. We recommend buying a set of 3-4 values around your target to pinpoint the exact level.
Q: Are these pens compliant with international testing standards?
A: Yes, the arcotest Dyne Pens are designed to meet major international standards including ISO 8296 and ASTM D2578 for the determination of wetting tension of polyolefin films and sheets.
Q: What is the shelf life of these pens once opened?
A: While unopened pens typically last about 12 months from the manufacture date, opened pens have a shorter effective life depending on usage and storage.
