Good for sweaty hands
As someone with acidic sweat that eats strings quickly, these are a lifesaver. They resist corrosion much better than standard nickel strings.

Great tone, slightly pricey
The sound is crisp and clear right out of the package. They hold their tune very well. Only downside is the price point compared to uncoated sets, but they do last longer.

Perfect balance
Not too bright, not too dark. Just a balanced rock tone that cuts through the mix without being harsh. Will definitely buy again.

Consistent quality
I've been using D'Addario for years, and the XT line is their best yet. Consistent tension across all six strings and no dead spots.

Smooth playability
The coating makes bending strings incredibly smooth. No finger squeak noise when sliding up and down the neck. Perfect for recording sessions.

Best longevity I've experienced
These strings last significantly longer than my usual brand. The coating doesn't affect the feel or tone negatively at all. Highly recommend for gigging musicians.
Q: How does the tension compare to regular NYXL strings?
A: The tension is very similar to our NYXL line, offering stability and ease of bending, though the added coating may give a slightly smoother feel under the fingers.
Q: Can I use these on a 7-string guitar?
A: No, this specific package contains a 6-string set. We do offer XT coated strings for 7-string guitars in a separate listing.
Q: Does the coating wear off quickly near the frets?
A: The XT coating is engineered to be highly durable and resistant to wear at contact points, typically lasting 3-4 times longer than uncoated strings under normal playing conditions.
Q: What is the actual gauge of the high E string in this set?
A: In the Light gauge set (10-46), the high E string is .010 inches in diameter.
Q: Are these strings compatible with Floyd Rose tremolo systems?
A: Yes, these strings feature standard ball ends and are fully compatible with Floyd Rose and similar locking tremolo systems.
