Ideal for learning embedded GUIs
As a student learning embedded systems, this board is fantastic. The square resolution is great for modern UI designs, and there are plenty of example codes available online to get started quickly.

Exceeded expectations
Received the board in perfect condition. The touchscreen calibration was accurate out of the box. I successfully ported a complex menu system within a day. Highly recommended for rapid prototyping.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The build quality is excellent and the PSRAM makes a huge difference for graphics. I deducted one star because the wiki links for specific pin mappings were slightly outdated, but community forums helped.

Perfect for LVGL Projects
This board is exactly what I needed for my smart home dashboard project. The 4-inch screen is crisp, and the capacitive touch works flawlessly with LVGL. Setup with ESP-IDF was straightforward.

Best value ESP32-S3 display board
I've tried several all-in-one boards, and this Waveshare model offers the best balance of price and performance. The USB-C programming is fast, and the battery charging circuit works well.

Solid performance, runs hot under load
The WiFi and BLE connectivity are stable. However, when driving the display at full brightness while compiling heavy graphics, the MCU gets quite warm. Adding a small heatsink solved it for my use case.
Q: Can I power this solely via the battery connector without USB?
A: Yes, you can connect a 3.7V Li-Po battery to the JST connector to power the board independently. Ensure the battery has protection circuitry included.
Q: What is the maximum capacity for the MicroSD card?
A: The board supports MicroSD cards up to 32GB officially, though many users have reported success with 64GB and 128GB cards formatted in FAT32.
