Perfect for prototyping industrial controllers

Best value for high-end embedded development
Compared to other boards with similar specs, the price point is very competitive. The inclusion of both eMMC and M.2 slots gives great flexibility for storage options. Highly recommended for serious developers.

Impressive video decoding capabilities
Tested the 8K HDMI output and multi-channel 4K decoding. It handles everything smoothly. If you are working on digital signage or video wall projects, this is the board to get. The community support is also growing fast.

Great hardware, documentation needs improvement
Hardware quality is top-notch and the build feels very robust for industrial use. However, some of the peripheral pinout diagrams in the wiki were slightly outdated. Once we figured it out via the forum, everything worked perfectly.

Excellent performance for edge AI projects
The RK3588J chip on this board is a beast. We used it for a real-time object detection system, and the 6T NPU handled multiple video streams without breaking a sweat. The castellated holes made integrating it into our custom enclosure very straightforward.
Q: Can the NPU run TensorFlow Lite models directly?
A: Yes, the RKNN Toolkit allows you to convert TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX models to the RKNN format optimized for the NPU. We provide Python and C++ APIs for easy deployment.
Q: Does this board come with a pre-installed operating system?
A: The board typically ships with Android 12 or Debian 11 pre-flashed on the eMMC, depending on the SKU you select. Images for Ubuntu and Buildroot are also available for download on our official wiki.
Q: What is the warranty period for industrial bulk orders?
A: Standard units come with a 1-year warranty. For industrial bulk orders exceeding 50 units, we offer an extended 3-year warranty option and long-term availability guarantees for the product lifecycle.
Q: Is there active cooling required or does it rely on passive heatsinks?
A: For typical workloads, the included large aluminum passive heatsink is sufficient. For sustained full-load AI inference or 8K video processing, we recommend adding a small fan or ensuring adequate airflow in your enclosure.
Q: What is the pitch of the castellated holes for custom carrier design?
A: The castellated holes have a standard pitch of 2.54mm (100mil), making them compatible with standard breadboards and easy to solder onto custom PCBs. Detailed mechanical drawings are available in the hardware reference manual.
