Great performance, minor heat issues
Excellent compilation speeds and multitasking capability. I recommend adding a better heatsink if you plan to run it 24/7 without a case fan.

Powerful but needs some Linux knowledge
This is not a plug-and-play consumer router. You need to know how to configure Linux networks, but once set up, it outperforms many commercial units.

Best value for 2.5G routing
Replaced my old x86 router with this. Power consumption is significantly lower, and the performance is surprisingly comparable for home use cases.
Q: Can I install Windows on the NanoPi R6C?
A: Officially, the RK3588S architecture supports Android, Ubuntu, Debian, and OpenWrt. Windows on ARM is not officially supported for this specific board configuration.
Q: What is the maximum capacity for the M.2 SSD?
A: The M.2 slot supports NVMe SSDs up to 2TB, though compatibility may vary by specific drive model. We recommend checking our wiki for tested lists.
Q: Is there active cooling included with the board?
A: The standard kit includes a passive aluminum heatsink. For heavy workloads, we recommend purchasing a separate case with a fan or an active cooling solution.
Q: Does the 2.5G Ethernet support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
A: No, the onboard Ethernet ports do not support PoE input. However, there is a POE HAT available separately that can be stacked to add this functionality.
Q: Does this board come with a power adapter included?
A: No, the board typically does not include a power adapter. You will need a 5V/3A USB-C power supply separately.
