Solid build quality

Great heavy-duty coupling for high-torque applications. The 45# steel construction is robust. I deducted one star only because the instructions could be more detailed, but the product itself is excellent.

Excellent vibration damping

Q: Is the keyway standard metric or imperial?

A: Our standard stock usually features metric keyways, but we can machine imperial keyways upon request. Please specify your requirement before ordering.

Q: How often should the spider insert be replaced?

A: Replacement frequency depends on operating conditions and load cycles. We recommend inspecting the insert every 6 months and replacing it if you notice cracking, deformation, or increased vibration.

Q: What is the maximum bore size available for the XL series?

A: The XL series supports various bore sizes depending on the specific sub-model. Please check the detailed dimension chart in the product manual or contact us with your shaft diameter for a recommendation.

Q: Does this coupling come with the elastic spider insert included?

A: Yes, the XL Star Coupling package includes both the steel jaws and the polyurethane elastic spider insert.

Q: Can this be used in outdoor environments exposed to rain?

A: The 45# steel has a black oxide finish which offers some corrosion resistance, but for prolonged outdoor exposure to moisture, we recommend applying additional protective grease or housing the coupling.
