Easy integration
Plug and play with Arduino Uno. The digital output is very stable and the analog reading gives good granularity for soil conditions.

Solid sensor module
Does the job well for indoor plants. Make sure to seal the connections if you plan on using it outdoors to prevent short circuits.

Reliable moisture readings
I used this for my automatic watering system. Very responsive to moisture changes and the digital output threshold is easy to adjust.

Good value for money
Great for school projects and prototypes. Just note that the probes can corrode after long-term use in wet soil, but for the price, it is acceptable.
Q: Can I leave this in soil permanently?
A: It is designed for intermittent use. Long-term continuous exposure to moist soil may cause the metal probes to corrode over time.
Q: What voltage does it require?
A: It operates safely between 3.3V and 5V DC, making it compatible with most standard microcontrollers.
Q: Is this sensor analog or digital?
A: It provides both analog and digital outputs. You can read the moisture level via analog pin or use the digital pin for a threshold-based switch.
Q: How long are the probes?
A: The probe length is approximately 60mm, which is suitable for most standard plant pots and garden beds.
Q: Is there a specific library needed for this?
A: No specific library is required. It works with standard analog read functions available in the Arduino IDE or similar platforms.
