Perfect for Drones
Altitude hold is very stable with this sensor. Low power consumption helps with flight time. Highly recommend for DIY UAV projects.

Excellent Precision
Used this for a home weather station project. The pressure readings are very stable and match my local meteorological data closely. Easy to integrate with ESP32.

Documentation sparse
Sensor works but library examples were hard to find initially. Had to dig through forums to get the I2C address configured correctly.

Good value
Works well but needs a level shifter if you are using 5V Arduino boards. Once wired correctly, the altitude data is quite accurate for indoor testing.
Q: Is there a library for Arduino?
A: Yes, several open-source libraries are available, including those by Adafruit and SparkFun that support this chip.
Q: Is the module waterproof?
A: No, the sensor and PCB are not waterproof. Please house it in a suitable enclosure for outdoor use.
Q: What is the maximum altitude it can measure?
A: It is rated for pressure ranges corresponding to altitudes from -500m to +1100m above sea level accurately.
Q: Is this sensor 5V tolerant?
A: No, the MPL3115A2 operates at 1.6V to 3.6V. You must use a logic level converter if connecting to a 5V microcontroller.
Q: Does it come with headers soldered?
A: Yes, the module comes with 0.1 inch pitch headers pre-soldered for easy breadboard use.
