Works but needs logic level shifting
Just a heads up for 3.3V users, you might need a level shifter. Works fine on 5V though. Documentation mentions it but easy to miss.

Reliable Distance Measurement
Tested against a tape measure and it is surprisingly accurate within the 2-400cm range. Great value for the price.

Good sensor, minor wiring confusion
The sensor itself is great. Took me a bit to figure out the 5th pin function compared to the standard 4-pin HC-SR04. Otherwise solid.

Excellent Documentation Included
Unlike other modules, this came with a clear pinout sheet. Saved me time searching online. Highly recommend for beginners.
Q: What is the difference between this and HC-SR04?
A: The HY-SRF05 has 5 pins including a dedicated OUT pin, offering slightly different interface options compared to the standard 4-pin HC-SR04.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, but ensure you use a voltage divider for the echo pin as Pi GPIO is 3.3V tolerant.
Q: Can this be used outdoors?
A: It can function outdoors, but wind and temperature variations may affect accuracy. Best used in controlled environments.
Q: Does it come with sample code?
A: The documentation includes basic Arduino example code to get you started with distance calculations.
Q: What is the minimum detection distance?
A: The minimum measurable distance is approximately 2cm. Objects closer may not be detected accurately.
