Stunning sound projection
The all-solid wood construction provides incredible resonance. I use this for live performances with the onboard pickup, and it sounds natural through the PA system without any harshness.

Japanese quality at its finest
You can immediately tell this was built in Japan. The attention to detail on the bracing and the finish is flawless. It stays in tune remarkably well even with temperature changes.

Great guitar, minor setup needed
Beautiful instrument with rich tones. It arrived slightly high on the action, but after a quick professional setup, it plays like a dream. The ebony fingerboard feels very smooth.

Perfect transition from steel string
As a steel-string player wanting to explore classical tones, the narrower neck on this Yamaha is a game changer. The build quality is exceptional, and being made in Japan really shows in the fit and finish.

Excellent for studio work
Records beautifully. The balance between bass and treble is very even. My only wish is that the case was included at this price point, but the guitar itself is fantastic.

Worth every penny
I was hesitant about the price, but the craftsmanship justifies it. The crossover design allows me to play complex chords comfortably while maintaining that warm classical nylon sound.
Q: How do I know if the top is solid wood?
A: All models in the NTX/NCX series specified as 'All-Solid' feature solid wood tops, backs, and sides. You can verify this by checking the label inside the soundhole which explicitly states the materials used.
Q: Can I use steel strings on this guitar?
A: No, you should never use steel strings on a classical nylon string guitar. The higher tension of steel strings can warp the neck and damage the bridge of this instrument.
Q: Does this come with a hard case included?
A: This specific model typically ships with a high-quality gig bag. Hard cases are usually sold separately, but we recommend checking the specific listing details for bundle options.
Q: What is the exact nut width of this crossover model?
A: The nut width is 48mm, which is narrower than standard classical guitars (usually 52mm) but wider than typical steel-string acoustics, offering a comfortable middle ground.
Q: Is the pickup system active or passive?
A: The Yamaha SRT2/ART system featured in these models is an active pickup system, requiring a 9V battery to operate the preamp and EQ controls.
