Decent kit but missing one screw
The components are solid, but my box was missing one neck bolt. I had to source it locally. Once fixed, it plays nicely and the pickup is quite sensitive.

Fantastic project for banjo enthusiasts
Building this kit was a weekend well spent. The instructions were clear, and the REMO head sounds incredible once assembled. Great tone for the price.

Fun DIY experience
If you enjoy building instruments, this is a great choice. The finish on the wood parts was smooth, and the frets were well-seated. Just take your time assembling.

Perfect electric banjo conversion
I wanted an electric banjo without spending a fortune. This 6-string kit allows me to use my guitar skills while getting that authentic banjo twang. Highly recommended.

Great sound projection
The REMO head really makes a difference in resonance. Even unplugged, it has a nice volume. Plugged in, it cuts through the mix perfectly in our band.

Good quality parts, takes patience
The wood quality is surprisingly good for a kit. You need to be careful with the alignment during assembly, but the end result is a playable instrument with a unique sound.
Q: Is the neck pre-slotted for frets?
A: Yes, the neck comes pre-slotted and pre-fretted. You do not need to install the frets yourself, which simplifies the assembly process significantly.
Q: Does this kit come with strings included?
A: No, the DIY parts kit does not include strings. You will need to purchase a set of 6-string banjo or light gauge guitar strings separately.
Q: What tools are required for assembly?
A: You will typically need a Phillips head screwdriver, a small wrench for the tuners, and possibly a ruler for measuring scale length. Basic woodworking glue is also recommended for securing certain joints.
Q: What is the scale length of this banjo?
A: The scale length is approximately 26 inches, which is standard for a 6-string banjo (banjitar), making it comfortable for guitarists to transition to.
Q: Can this be played acoustically without an amplifier?
A: Yes, thanks to the REMO drum head, the instrument produces acoustic sound. However, it is designed primarily as an electric instrument, so the acoustic volume is moderate compared to a full-size acoustic banjo.
