Best investment for hobbyists
I wanted to try Chinese painting as a new hobby and this set had everything I needed to start. The wolf hair brush provides nice snap for detailed work. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Perfect starter set for my daughter

Soft bristles, easy to clean
The bristles are very soft, which is perfect for beginners who haven't mastered pressure control yet. They rinse clean easily after use. I deducted one star only because the packaging was slightly crushed on arrival.

Excellent for Regular Script
The medium goat hair brush is fantastic for practicing Regular Script. It creates smooth lines and the bamboo handle feels comfortable in hand during long practice sessions. Highly recommended for students.

Good quality for the price
As an adult beginner, I found these brushes very forgiving. The mixed hair brushes are soft enough for practice but firm enough to control strokes. One brush shed a little initially, but overall great value.

A: Wolf hair brushes are firmer and provide more bounce, ideal for precise strokes. Goat hair brushes are softer and hold more ink, making them better for broader, flowing lines.
Q: How should I clean and store these brushes after use?
A: Rinse gently with lukewarm water until the water runs clear, reshape the tip, and let it air dry horizontally or hang with the tip facing down. Avoid soaking the handle in water.
Q: Are these brushes suitable for watercolor painting as well?
A: While designed primarily for calligraphy, the goat hair brushes can be used for light watercolor washes. However, for heavy watercolor work, we recommend our dedicated watercolor brush line.
