Great drum, needs breaking in
Beautiful instrument. The skin was very tight upon arrival, which is expected for extra-thick hides. After a few days of playing, the tone has warmed up nicely.

Good value for money
For the price, the quality is impressive. The sound is clear and punchy. I deducted one star only because the beater included was a bit light, but the drum itself is fantastic.

Durable and authentic
I have been using this drum daily for three months. The stitching holds firm, and the wood shows no signs of cracking. Highly recommend for serious practitioners.

Beautiful craftsmanship
The finish on the wood is elegant, and the skin tension is perfect right out of the box. It adds a wonderful atmospheric element to our group chanting sessions.

Excellent sound quality for ceremonies
The buffalo skin is thick and produces a deep, resonant tone that carries well in our temple hall. The craftsmanship on the wooden rim is smooth and sturdy.
Q: Can this drum be used outdoors?
A: While it can be used outdoors for short periods, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or rain may damage the natural skin and wood. We advise bringing it indoors after use.
Q: How do I maintain the buffalo skin if I live in a dry climate?
A: In dry climates, we recommend storing the drum in its case when not in use and occasionally lightly moistening the skin edge (not the center) to prevent excessive tightening or cracking.
Q: What is the difference between this 'Half-Tang' style and a full Tang drum?
A: The Half-Tang style typically refers to the specific curvature of the rim and the depth of the body, offering a slightly higher pitch and quicker response compared to deeper full-Tang models, making it ideal for handheld rhythmic patterns.
Q: Does this drum come with a beater or mallet?
A: Yes, this set includes a traditional wooden beater suitable for striking the buffalo skin head.
Q: Is the handle attached securely enough for vigorous playing?
A: Absolutely. The handle is reinforced with heavy-duty rivets and strong adhesive, designed specifically to withstand the impact of ceremonial drumming.
