Beautiful Craftsmanship
As a collector of traditional instruments, I am impressed by the finish on this drum. The cowhide is tight and the wood grain is beautiful. It arrived well-packaged and safe.

Great Drum, Stand Needs Tuning
The drum itself is professional grade with a fantastic dry sound. The stand is sturdy but took some time to adjust the height perfectly for my seating position. Overall very satisfied.

Perfect for Practice
I needed a reliable board drum for daily practice. The 416 Dry version offers excellent feedback on stick technique. The stainless steel legs do not scratch my floor.

Solid Professional Gear
Very happy with the purchase. The drumsticks included are decent, though I prefer my own. The stand is heavy-duty which is great for stage use but less portable for travel.

Exceeded Expectations
The volume and tone are exactly what is needed for Qinqiang performance. It holds its tuning well even after hours of playing. Highly recommend for professionals.

Authentic Sound for Our Troupe
We purchased the 424 Storm model for our local opera group. The projection is incredible, cutting through the orchestra without losing clarity. The stainless steel stand is very stable during vigorous performances.
Q: What is the difference between the 416 Dry and 424 Storm models?
A: The 416 Dry model has a tighter head tension producing a sharper, drier click, while the 424 Storm model offers a slightly deeper resonance with more sustain, suitable for larger venues.
Q: Can this be used for other types of Chinese opera besides Qinqiang?
A: Yes, while optimized for Qinqiang, the Ban Gu is a versatile instrument used in various forms of traditional Chinese opera and folk music ensembles.
Q: How do I maintain the cowhide drumhead in humid weather?
A: In high humidity, store the drum in a climate-controlled room or use a dehumidifier near the instrument. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources which can crack the hide.
Q: Is the stand adjustable for different player heights?
A: Absolutely. The stainless steel stand features telescopic legs that can be adjusted to accommodate various seating heights and playing styles.
Q: Does this come with the drumsticks shown in the pictures?
A: Yes, the package includes a professional pair of hardwood drumsticks specifically designed for Ban Gu playing.
