Exceeded my expectations

Solid workhorse for touring
I've taken this guitar on tour for six months now. It holds its tuning remarkably well despite changing climates. The electronics are reliable and haven't failed once. A very dependable choice for traveling musicians.

Studio ready sound
As a session musician, I need gear that records well without much EQ. The A5R captures nuances perfectly. The rosewood back and sides provide a rich low end that sits well in a mix. Highly recommended for recording artists.

Beautiful aesthetics and craftsmanship
The abalone inlays and high-gloss finish are stunning in person. It feels premium in the hands. The neck profile is comfortable for both strumming and fingerstyle playing. Yamaha really nailed the details on this series.

Great value for an all-solid instrument
The build quality is exceptional for the price point. The action was low right out of the box. I only gave it 4 stars because the gig bag included is quite basic, but the guitar itself is a 5-star instrument.

Perfect balance of tone and playability
I upgraded from a laminate guitar to the A3R and the difference is night and day. The solid spruce top opens up beautifully after a few weeks of playing. The SRT2 electronics sound incredibly natural when plugged in, making it perfect for live gigs.

A: Yes, the battery compartment for the SRT2 system is located on the upper bout of the guitar body and is easily accessible without loosening or removing the strings.
