Beautiful tone and durable
The ebony material gives a warmer tone compared to plastic tips. After three months of daily practice, they show no signs of wear. The case is a nice bonus.

Best upgrade I've made to my instrument
I switched from standard bamboo tips to these ebony ones, and the difference in tonal richness is immediate. The included case is sturdy and keeps them safe in my gig bag.

Great quality, slightly stiff at first
The craftsmanship is excellent. They felt a bit rigid during the first week of use, but after breaking them in, they offer incredible control and dynamic range.

Solid choice for ensemble playing
These cut through the mix well in an orchestra setting. The only reason for 4 stars is that the case latch is a bit tight, but the hammers themselves are flawless.

Exceptional balance for fast passages
These hammers have transformed my playing speed. The ebony heads provide a crisp, clear tone without being too harsh on the strings. The weight distribution is perfect for professional repertoire.
Q: Are these hammers suitable for a beginner student?
A: While designed for professionals, dedicated beginners can certainly use them. However, due to the density of the ebony head, they require good wrist control to avoid fatigue.
Q: Are these compatible with all sizes of Yangqin?
A: Yes, these are standard-sized hammers compatible with soprano, alto, and bass Yangqin models used in most traditional and modern ensembles.
Q: Does the case fit both hammers securely?
A: Yes, the included case is custom-molded to hold both hammers snugly, preventing them from knocking against each other during transport.
Q: Can I replace the heads if they wear down over time?
A: The heads are permanently affixed to ensure optimal balance and resonance. If significant wear occurs after extensive use, we recommend purchasing a new pair for consistent performance.
Q: What is the difference between these and the rosewood version?
A: Ebony is denser than rosewood, producing a brighter attack and slightly more projection. Rosewood offers a somewhat softer, mellower tone.
